CHUN Organizing Neighborhood Wellness Fair

We just had a meeting today with the staff of Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods, producers of the annual People's Fair and the largest neighborhood association in Denver. They're putting together a couple of wellness events for early to mid August, to take place at the Tears-McFarlane House in Cheeseman Park.

The events will bring together local resources for individual health & wellness. This includes massage therapists, chiropractors, nutritionists, naturopaths, etc. They'll have a small farmer's market and special offers from local health providers.

Mayor Speaks Out About Local Business & Our Economy

Last night's Buy Local Week Celebration Event was, in our opinion, a smashing success. Joined by MHBA members, supporters, partners and other local business owners, it was our best event ever.

The Appaloosa food, specially prepared by their chef, was simply delicious. MHBA members enjoyed free drafts of Great Divide beer, and we finished up the evening with door prizes from T-Trove Asian Decor, 5 Green Boxes (wow, that green frog tape dispenser was so cool), Baggy Shirts, and $50 gift certificates from Twist & Shout and the Appaloosa Grill.

Upcoming Forum on Financing Options for Businesses and Developers

The Denver Office of Economic Development is hosting a free event on Thursday, December 4th to present Denver logofinancing options available to businesses and real estate developers. Although some financial institutions are lending less freely, local businesses do have options.

Read more about the event, and be sure to pre-register by contacting Artamis Byars at 720-913-1660. We'll be there taking notes and will blog about it here for our members who are unable to attend.
